The Kultursommer Wien invites you to numerous cultural experiences in a relaxed atmosphere from 3 July to 15 August. Around 2,000 artists perform at over 40 venues across the city. Whether dance and performance, theatre, cabaret, comedy and improv theatre, readings, spoken word and slam poetry, transcultural, participatory and interdisciplinary formats, contemporary circus, figurative and object theatre, jazz, folk and song-writing, electronic and experimental music, Austropop, Viennese song, folk music or Schlager – with this diverse program there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.

#dif21 summer tour

This year’s #dif21 summer tour is similar, offering a colourful variety of programs in all 23 districts of Vienna for 40 days with 80 acts and around 120 pop-up concerts from 2 August to 16 September. And with free admission. Big names like MÖWE, Lemo, Dives or Theessink and Molden are among them.

Special times bring special events … this year we’re drifting along the canal all summer: The Donaukanaltreiben 2021 therefore takes place from July to September again and again with musical program items at the locations on the Danube Canal.

The Donaukanaltreiben is quite simply part of the Viennese summer, all the more beautiful that the series of events on the Danube Canal again offers a varied program this year – from July to September. As a hotspot for all art and culture lovers and with free admission, you can enjoy urban life by the water with music, art, cuisine, parties and many activities in the middle of the city.

You can also enjoy summer to the fullest on the summerstage. Whether for those interested in art, gourmets, athletes or for fans of fine live concerts, the summerstage offers something for every guest! The extensive event program combines concerts, readings, exhibitions, EM public viewing events and much more. In the restaurants right by the water you can also go on a culinary trip around the world. The summerstage is already open and will spoil you and your friends with a great program and the best cuisine until the end of September.

Film Festival on Rathausplatz

You can also stop by this year’s Film Festival on Rathausplatz at any time without booking. For 30 years now, the City of Vienna has been inviting visitors to enjoy free cultural events on Vienna’s Rathausplatz every summer. For 64 days, the Film Festival this year offer a unique combination of major music productions (from opera and classical music to pop, rock and jazz to dance, world music and musicals) and first-class gastronomy in the open air. The festival runs from 3 July to 4 September.
