Burgtheater

Guaranteed top quality: whether standard works or new productions – you can rely on the best entertainment at the Burgtheater.

If you want to attend one of the performances at the Haus am Ring at the lowest possible price, there are a number of discounts available: Pupils, trainees, those doing military or civilian service and students under the age of 27 can simply buy a small number of tickets online for just 12 euros. If there are any remaining tickets, you can also buy them at the box office.

For selected events, everyone at the box office also receives a 25 percent discount on remaining tickets from one hour before the start of the performance. All other discounts can be found on the website.

Theater in der Josefstadt

The Theater in der Josefstadt, which also includes the Kammerspiele in Rotenturmstraße, is a venerable, dignified theater. Classical plays are just as much a part of the repertoire as contemporary works. Whether Schnitzler, Mitterer or completely new plays and productions: Topical themes, modern adaptations and tongue-in-cheek comedies always attract an enthusiastic audience here.

Three days before the performance, pupils, trainees, civil servants, soldiers and students up to the age of 27 can order tickets for 7 euros. Tip: Sign up for the newsletter and regularly win free tickets in the theater puzzle.

Wiener Staatsoper bei Nacht

Wiener Staatsoper

Once in a lifetime to the Vienna State Opera! Yes, many people want to see The Magic Flute or Swan Lake in the magnificent opera house. Unfortunately, affordable tickets are often gone faster than they can be bought online – and the queue in front of the standing room box office gets longer and longer before the performance starts. Fortunately, queuing can be worth it.

The evening cash box in Operngasse opens 80 minutes before the performance begins. If you don’t want to queue for nothing, it’s best to arrive early. Standing tickets cost 13 euros for the balcony, 15 euros for the gallery and 18 euros for the second floor.

Anyone under the age of 27 can attend the dress rehearsal for just 10 euros or find out about remaining tickets and last-minute offers for pre-booked performances for 20 euros.

Volksoper

Operetta or opera light can only be found in Vienna – alongside operas, musicals and ballets – at the Volksoper. Die Fledermaus is part of the regular repertoire. The most famous opera, La Traviata, is performed as well as lesser-known works.

The Volksoper also offers various discounts that allow you to attend performances at a lower price. For example, unemployed people can get remaining tickets between 6 and 12 euros 20 minutes before the start of the performance. If you are under 30 years old, you can buy tickets for 15 euros – either in advance on certain dates or as remaining tickets at the box office.
